Everybody, The Creators Table. I'm your host, Watson, and I'm joined here with the band GLASS EDGE. Give a round of applause, guys. Welcome.
Andrew:Hey. What's up? Thanks for having us.
Tyler Watson:Welcome. Thank you. And I have to point out the elephant in the room because all the new people are saying this. That's a that's Gert over there. You can say hi if you want.
Gurt:Hi everybody.
Tyler Watson:Yeah. He's he's, he's new here. I don't remember exactly how we found him, but he's a nice guy. He's just don't like, just don't worry too much about him. Yo, Gurt.
Tyler Watson:Yeah, seems
Evan:chill. Yo.
Tyler Watson:Just the dead stare. I like it. So tell us about who you are, kind of what you guys do, and, what makes you guys kind of different, I guess, a little bit.
Andrew:Hey. What's up? I'm Andrew from GLASS EDGE. I'm the vocalist.
Evan:I'm Evan. I play guitar.
Tyler Watson:And then you guys have two other members. Correct?
Andrew:Yes. Actually, we have yes, we do have two other members. Sorry. That would be Riley, our drummer, and Roger, our bassist.
Tyler Watson:Nice. And how long have you guys been performing together as a band?
Andrew:As a band, we've been doing shows since, like, I think our first show was 03/09/2024 at this game.
Evan:I don't know how he remembers that, but yeah.
Andrew:It was it
Evan:was probably around like 2024. Yeah.
Andrew:Okay. March 9, I'm I'm betting Me
Evan:and him have been doing like music stuff since like 2023 though,
Tyler Watson:around Okay.
Andrew:Yeah.
Tyler Watson:So GLASS EDGE, it's a very it's a very awesome name.
Andrew:Thank you.
Tyler Watson:Especially for just like rock and metal. Awesome name. I also know isn't that Razor's Edge is the ACDC album, isn't it?
Andrew:I think so. I think so.
Evan:I honestly I don't I'm not sure.
Tyler Watson:Don't know.
Andrew:That sounds familiar, I don't, I don't really know a lot of ACDC, I'm
Tyler Watson:not Me gonna
Andrew:neither. I listened to like probably a couple songs in like middle school, but after that I was mainly into a lot of punk and like, you know, like misfits and rants and stuff like that at that time, so.
Tyler Watson:Yeah, so what led you guys to starting the band GLASS EDGE?
Andrew:I think it, it was when we were, juniors in high school, we kind of wanted to do something together musically because, well at the time, we had just, we were, we were in band in like middle school and Yeah, freshman
Tyler Watson:we were
Evan:doing like trumpet together.
Andrew:Yeah, we did, we played trumpet together that's how, that's how like how we met, but we wanted to do something more than just playing trumpet, we wanted to do something like really cool that
Tyler Watson:we wanted to do. Yeah.
Andrew:So Evan was getting into guitar, you'd been playing for, I don't know how long at that point.
Evan:I started when I was like maybe like 15 or 16.
Tyler Watson:Okay, yeah.
Evan:Maybe like a year when we started doing music stuff.
Andrew:Yeah. And I had like probably a month of experience of doing vocals, so not not really good. So, in that in that beginning when it's just me and him kind of just playing around with the idea of starting a band, we were just kind of just doing whatever. Right. Right.
Andrew:Whatever doll and like just making some random crap.
Tyler Watson:Yeah. No. Totally get that. Yeah.
Andrew:Yeah. Yeah.
Tyler Watson:I mean, the I feel like starting it is like, I feel like you can always start a band, keeping it going is always maybe the toughest part getting Definitely. Or getting everybody together for practice and stuff like that.
Andrew:Oh, everybody. Especially Riley. Begin with. Yeah. Yeah.
Andrew:Yeah. The drummer's always late. So
Tyler Watson:And I know I really started to notice you guys, like, around, like, because obviously we used to record it out radio. Yeah. And like I, you know, I saw you guys at, like, the first bow of the bands. Yeah. I was there.
Tyler Watson:There's actually a video of me and my buddy doing the cabbage patch right in front of the moss pit, which is one of my favorite videos of all time.
Andrew:That's funny. It's cool. You have to send that to me.
Tyler Watson:I haven't Yeah. I'll show you. The Sentinel posted it. Like, there's a little clip and I think they're really trying to get the mosh pit and then it was just me and him going like, you know, and I was like, okay, you know what? That's just in there.
Andrew:But Serious, bro.
Tyler Watson:Do you guys think that stuff like doing battle of the bands kind of like put you on center stage, especially in the case you've seen for sure?
Andrew:I definitely think so. I think it's definitely like help get us more out there to people who maybe haven't heard about us before, you know stuff like that, so I think especially the last round of Battle of the Bands that was that was a highlight for sure, and I think that did really well for us I mean we were playing like in front of so many people that we've never played in front of you know before Yeah. And it was it was very interesting because we didn't really expect a lot of people to actually like like what we do it's very it's very it's very harsh there's a lot a lot of screaming a lot of dissonant chords
Tyler Watson:how many in person sets had you had up until the first battle of bands round
Andrew:I think I think, like, probably like 15 maybe.
Tyler Watson:Oh, so you guys were experienced on stage. So you're you're not coming into this like yeah. That's what I figured.
Andrew:Yeah. Yeah. We were
Tyler Watson:Because the one thing I noticed about you guys, and I think that's why you guys stuck out so well, is you guys had a wonderful, like, stage presence. Wonderful is a wild word to say it.
Andrew:It felt wonderful. It felt you know, it was it was so much fun. I I wanna do that again so bad.
Tyler Watson:Yeah. Like, literally, you know, like, all the other bands were great too. You know, everything everybody who participated was
Andrew:dope. Those guys are so awesome. They're so sweet. Alicia Ensemble is so cool. I really enjoyed watching
Tyler Watson:this I love that. Yeah.
Andrew:Was so tough.
Tyler Watson:But you guys really, I think kind of stood out because you guys were, first of you just being, you as a lead singer is just, I saw you, I saw you jump into that crowd and the person's like, is there enough people? Because the first round compared to like the last round was like it was completely different how many people were there.
Andrew:Oh, yeah.
Tyler Watson:So it was really impressive to see you guys on stage.
Andrew:We made it work. I wish I could have done this. I wish I could have crowd surfed, at, the final round.
Tyler Watson:Did they not let you?
Andrew:No. No. Had to Why? They did not want me to do anything dangerous or anyone to they didn't want anyone to get hurt. I couldn't say, Hey yo, come on get in the pit open, you know, open this up right now.
Andrew:We're not cursing on the podcast, but you know, opening up, know, say a few things like, Come on, like, let's beat some Yeah. Trying to get people like hype, like excited and but they're like, you can't try to avoid calling for any pits or anything like outright. Yeah. Okay, that's like really hard. You know,
Tyler Watson:I did not realize, I know I could definitely tell there were people trying to mosh Yeah, though, for
Andrew:it did open up like later during the set, like I see people, they were like doing windmills, swinging their arms back, they two stepping, like it was so tough and like, really cool, like I didn't have to say anything, even though I really wanted to. It was so hard to fight back to just like, try to add and them stuff. Yeah. But, they caught on and like, it was really cool, because at the, at the end of our set, when we were playing, one of our songs, Tearing Every Stitch, we had the breakdown at the end, where we usually like to do like a wall of death and I had to like try to, I couldn't be like yo everyone split right now- Yeah. And like we're gonna do a wall of death or whatever.
Tyler Watson:You know like insinuate it a little bit you know?
Andrew:You can tell like in the song because it's like, like you can tell like something's about to come up, like, right. It's gonna happen. So I guess people sense that, and enough people like knew what was coming, and I was like, you know what to do, and they like, pushed everyone back, and like when it hit Yeah. Came together like, that's so tough.
Tyler Watson:Didn't have to
Andrew:say anything.
Tyler Watson:Gurt, do you Gurt, are you often, do you find yourself in the middle of the mosh pit? Do you mosh?
Gurt:I mosh every now and then, but I like to do it with my friends mainly.
Andrew:Yeah. Gurt, will we ever see you in the GLASS EDGE mosh pit?
Gurt:Oh, yeah. Yeah. I gotta get an invite only though.
Tyler Watson:I only
Gurt:go to events that I'm specifically called to
Andrew:by name. You're yeah. You're on the guest list. Yeah. We got you guest list.
Andrew:Don't worry.
Tyler Watson:Okay. Okay.
Gurt:That that makes things easier for GERD. Okay.
Tyler Watson:Honestly, I can see GERD in the mosh pit. I I'll be honest. I was introduced to mosh pits through the first one. Because I know I like I
Andrew:Oh nice.
Tyler Watson:I like I I was introduced to it and I was like, dang, this is intense. I love I I do love to see how people get into it. Yeah. Genuinely. Because it's like, and again, this is maybe not the greatest conversation because I've talked about mosh pits before.
Tyler Watson:But I love mosh pits because it's like the the ability to look at that, see somebody going around the crowd swinging, and then be like, I'm gonna get right in it, is just absolutely bonkers to me.
Andrew:It's so fun, because one, like, you're getting a good workout in for sure. You're gonna
Evan:be Yeah.
Andrew:Chill the next day. Yeah. But like, hey, you burned some calories, so it's kind of awesome.
Tyler Watson:It's a very impressive thing to see. And like, you guys had a very strong launchpad going on.
Andrew:Yeah, we did. And that's always like our goal is to try to like get people as hyped as we are. So if we want the crowd to be super hype, we have to also be two times as hype as
Tyler Watson:we are. I think that's why you guys want. I think people just were so hyped by you guys. Yeah. Like, you're like, you know, I think obviously you have great music.
Tyler Watson:Mhmm. But it's like that's like you're you guys are one of those bands of like nothing beats seeing it live. Oh. You know what I mean? It's like
Andrew:Thank you so much. That's awesome.
Tyler Watson:I think that's a lot of rock, but you guys are special. Yeah. I dunno. Maybe that's just because I've seen you guys live.
Andrew:Yeah. But But yeah. We've put in the work for our stage presence. I feel like if you like
Evan:Oh, dude. I used to be a tree. Like, I remember my first live performance because I was wearing a stupid wizard robe.
Tyler Watson:I was literally just standing there the entire time. That'd be me though. I mean
Evan:I was nervous.
Tyler Watson:Yeah. I I would I would be nervous too.
Andrew:Even when we played the masquerade for the first time, like, we improved so much from that. Like, especially, like, I look at me and Evan because I feel like we were like pretty stiff but like now like we've kind of like I don't know like all the stiffness kind of just leaves our body and we're tired.
Evan:Yeah Andrew like he's moving around all like all
Tyler Watson:over Yeah the
Andrew:the fluidity we got it down.
Tyler Watson:Yeah. We're fluid. Yeah. Y'all y'all really are. Yeah.
Tyler Watson:Really. And off topic, this isn't in. I wanted the reason I went to Battle of Man's first is I kinda felt like that was more natural, because it felt like my introduction to you guys felt like maybe introduced into the actual show. Kind of felt like a very big introduction for you guys in the scene. So you guys really, you guys are obviously very unique.
Tyler Watson:You have very unique sound. So where did you guys get your inspirations of, like, what you guys wanted? Did you guys have an inspiration of who you guys wanted to be like or were you guys kind of coming up with something unique on the fly, I guess?
Andrew:Do you wanna answer?
Evan:I think we wanna go for a more unique sound, but like the current stuff we have right now is, I'd say similar to a band like Boundaries or like Orthodox.
Andrew:Right.
Evan:Yeah. Like a lot of the riffs are very similar to those bands.
Andrew:Yeah, a lot of, metallic hardcore and like, like early metal core too Yeah. Was a big inspiration at the time.
Tyler Watson:Do you guys ever consider like any other genres? Like, did you ever find yourself playing like, I don't know, like jazz and then you're just like, let's switch it up.
Andrew:No, no. We've always wanted to do metal and metalcore. Mhmm. We do have like, at the end of, one of our songs, Squire Sings My Old You, it's kind of like a a gent breakdown.
Evan:Yeah. It's like Thal.
Andrew:Or Thal. Like a
Evan:band like Wildjarta. They're like, they're from Sweden, I think.
Tyler Watson:It's kind
Evan:of like jant, it's like, I don't know how to describe it. They make guitar noises, they're like, It's weird.
Tyler Watson:That's very vivid. Yeah, get hard to
Andrew:explain, but like, it's, you kind of just need to like, hear it and then like, you'll like, I think we only have like one section that's like, like that, and I think that's like probably like the most experimental Yeah. Thing that we have on our release. Yeah. That part. Yeah.
Tyler Watson:Yeah. I like that. I like that. And you guys what is the songwriting process for you guys? Like, how was kind of getting that ability to get together as a band and then also come up with ideas to write music?
Tyler Watson:Who's leading the process of writing the new songs? Like, what aspect you start with? Is it because somebody's got a good guitar riff or there's there's lyrics?
Andrew:Like to kind of do a hybrid where we will meet up in person, you know, like when we like, have a rehearsal for a show or whatever. We're also gonna like hang out after. Right, right. We kind of just go back and forth. It's like, hey, I've I've been like working on this riff.
Andrew:Like, I want to show you guys what do you think about it, like, of in person, and we'll just kind of like, use that time to brainstorm. Just Yeah. Riffs here and there, and then like take those riffs, and then later, you know, record them in a DAW, and then try to just like, have these little sections of like thirty to sixty seconds, and where we like, program drums, and try to like, make something from it, change it up here and there, you know, talk about like, hey, what do you think about this like.
Tyler Watson:Yeah, yeah.
Evan:You know,
Andrew:try to go back and forth from there. So it's kind of like a mix, but
Tyler Watson:yeah, I feel like. Did you think it's one one person in particular who's like leading the process?
Andrew:I would say we're trying definitely now we're trying to push more for it to be like me, Roger, and Evan to kind of we want to kind of almost push the band in a slightly different direction, as from what we're going with now. We want it to be a little bit more chaotic, and we want to use like, yeah, maybe experiment with a different tuning or something like that. So, Yeah. We're just trying to keep it fresh, you know.
Tyler Watson:Yeah, that's a 100%. Yeah. I mean, think you guys are very, I think that's like the best thing to do now is like everybody's kind of gotten a taste at Case You now, at least the people at Hootie Harvest, So it's kind of like, how do you keep them coming back?
Andrew:Right.
Tyler Watson:Absolutely. And, now
Gurt:has a question.
Tyler Watson:Oh yes. So, yes Gur, So what do you
Gurt:where is the craziest place you've ever gotten inspiration?
Tyler Watson:Oh. The craziest what what is the craziest place you've inspiration?
Gurt:Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Evan:Yeah. Dude, that's tough.
Gurt:That's tough. Oh, I'm oh, oh, Gurt. Sorry.
Tyler Watson:Oh, it's okay. All good.
Evan:All good.
Andrew:Locking in. Craziest thing I've got
Tyler Watson:in I kinda want you guys to say something, like, off the wall, like, like, some, like, something crazy, like a like a Disney movie.
Andrew:I'm trying I'm trying to think.
Tyler Watson:Hey. It's okay.
Gurt:What are you thinking, buddy?
Andrew:I honestly, I'm not gonna lie. I would say nature for me. Like, as as the one that's, like, doing, like, the Mhmm. Writing, like, as far as, like, lyrics and stuff, and, like, try to get an idea of, like, oh, what kind of themes do we want to explore in our next release, kind of like Yeah. Concept album, almost.
Andrew:So I get, like, mood inspirations from, like, just going outside and, like, you know, experiencing nature go on lot go to a lot of hikes. Yeah. Love Kennesaw Mountain. It's always a great hike.
Tyler Watson:Oh, yeah. You can see the city from there too.
Andrew:Oh, yeah. Crazy. It's so breathtaking. It's so awesome. I feel like that for me, that would be like the most
Tyler Watson:Most inspiring.
Andrew:Inspiring yeah because right now we're kind of at a at a at a I feel like an interesting point as a band where we can kind of go almost in any direction we want to take it. Yeah. There's a lot of things we definitely want to try wise, instrumentally, that we've been wanting to do. So we're kind of at this point where we're like, okay, what's next for GLASS EDGE and what is the future gonna look like and it feels kind of uncertain, but maybe, you know, everything will work out in the end and we'll all be, you know, okay. Yeah.
Andrew:So kind of drawing more like moods and feelings like that and like tying it into nature. And then I like to write out a lot of things like if I have an idea for a song, I'm writing an outline first and then I'm expanding on the outline kind of like like like a paper almost. Yeah. I feel like that helps me a lot when it comes to writing for lyrics too.
Gurt:Yeah. Good answers. Good answers. Okay. Gurt satisfied.
Tyler Watson:Shout out Gurt. Satisfied. We need a little like thing now that's like got
Gurt:Well, one I'm feeling a a nice a nice 67.
Tyler Watson:Oh my gosh. This is supposed to be dead. I hope I hope when this comes out in August that it's just so old that people, people I feel like I've kind
Andrew:of gotten to the point a little bit, but like, if you just keep the bit going for so long, then the, then, then the irony comes back so you can be, oh, it's not, it's ironic again. It's been like what?
Tyler Watson:It'll be so funny in August though. You're right.
Andrew:Yeah, yeah, yeah. Beat it into the ground enough.
Gurt:Thinker or thinks for the future.
Tyler Watson:I have a feeling, to be honest with you guys, like, hopefully, he didn't hear this. I feel like he's low key impeding on my job. This bet. To be honest. Yeah.
Tyler Watson:You think so? I got I got you.
Evan:Do you have a bit of competition?
Tyler Watson:We'll keep an eye.
Andrew:I think I mean, he never blinks.
Tyler Watson:Yeah. He's always He does it. He's always he's always locked in.
Evan:He's, like, really charming too.
Andrew:Yeah. What do you do? And why are your teeth so short?
Tyler Watson:Gert's probably got a wife or someone or Gert
Andrew:are you are you like a bachelor? You risen up everywhere?
Gurt:Yeah well Gert likes to play the field. Gert's about settling down anytime soon.
Andrew:Hey, I mean, if you're not ready,
Gurt:then Exactly. You're not Yeah. That's what I always say.
Tyler Watson:Gert, you want kids? What? Do you want kids? Not like, I'm not, I'm not asking you. I'm like in general.
Gurt:Like little puppet children? I don't know about that. You have to give Gert maybe ten business days to think about it.
Tyler Watson:Okay. Okay. Fans, please comment if you would like to see. Okay. But back on back on topic.
Tyler Watson:That back on topic. That was great, Kirk. Thank you. Now, obviously, we we tapped into you guys playing at at Battle of Bands, which obviously was awesome. But and obviously, you're talking about your future now because, I mean, not to say people see you as a college man, I wouldn't say that at all.
Tyler Watson:But I think, you kind of took this through the college thing, it's like, you can't go to battle with bands again. Yeah. At least I'm, unless I Well Unless they are.
Andrew:I I wouldn't wanna do battle with bands again, and I'd rather give, you know, someone else the opportunity to play on a on that awesome sorry. The awesome stage. You could say Sorry. I don't I keep forgetting, like, I don't wanna like I'm a sometimes I curse too much, so
Tyler Watson:I should have like the curse alarm go off. It's like, where? Sorry. But what is what is some of the other venues that you guys have played at that you guys particularly like and that the environment is just there?
Evan:That skate shop show that we did? We have it on YouTube?
Andrew:Yes. Skate?
Tyler Watson:Think it's That was the best set we've ever I watched that. Yeah.
Andrew:Oh my god.
Evan:Every time like I do a bad set and like play really bad, I go back to that video and remind myself that
Andrew:I'm not that bad. I
Gurt:am kind
Tyler Watson:of the GOAT. Yeah. Right? That's okay. You know what?
Tyler Watson:That I feel like I've seen it.
Andrew:And about that show specifically, man, the vibes were so high. Like we had all of our friends there that we were we closely worked with, like back to earth, like all our friends from that band. Mhmm. Our old guitarist V, who he just parted ways with the band, because he wants to pursue, know, a different kind of sound, so. He's Barbed Barbed Angel.
Andrew:Shout out there. They were on the build too.
Tyler Watson:Chill out.
Andrew:Kaiju, Lily Pad, Us, and, Echo Lalia. Was so much fun. Everyone was having such a good time.
Tyler Watson:Would you go back?
Andrew:Oh, 100%.
Tyler Watson:Yeah.
Andrew:A 100%. And the lineup was great.
Tyler Watson:Maybe we'll maybe we'll set that. Maybe we'll set someone up. Yeah. I would I would love to I would love to check this out. I'm gonna have to I watched the video and it was pretty epic.
Gurt:Yeah.
Tyler Watson:It was pretty epic. I mean, battle of the bands was crazy because it was just like a ton of people. Yeah. I feel like the one thing about battle of the bands is like, because it was like Hootie Harvest. Yeah.
Tyler Watson:And like some people kind of just like, some people were there for the last round about the bands. And then some people kind of wandered in and they're like, wow, what is this? Which was great for you guys.
Andrew:I love it because I like playing our music for people who don't really listen to metal. Oh yeah. No. It's pretty great. Talk value and just to see how
Tyler Watson:Even if they don't like it, it's so entertaining. Yeah.
Andrew:And do and I don't know. A lot of people, I feel like they they weren't really into the genre, but they still had a really great time. Like, saw like
Tyler Watson:People were going crazy. Yeah.
Andrew:People were jumping. I was like, oh, this is a great time. This is this is what matters. When it when it comes down to playing music, it's all about, like, the vibes and, like, if everyone's enjoying themselves. So it was really great to see, like, everyone Yeah.
Andrew:All at the same time just having a really great, you know.
Tyler Watson:That, yeah, it really was like a worlds collide thing to me. Because you have like all the different like worlds that are at KSU
Evan:Yeah.
Andrew:Because of all the different colleges and just like
Tyler Watson:the vibes and the culture And and stuff like it's like, it was it was wild. It was a truly wild experience. Oh yeah.
Andrew:But That's beautiful. I love that so much.
Gurt:More. Actually Great. Got it. Okay. Alright, guys.
Gurt:So if you're if there was a zombie apocalypse that broke out in the middle of one of your shows. Oh. What would you do? Game plan right now.
Tyler Watson:That'd be sick. Okay.
Evan:Evan, you go first.
Tyler Watson:Alright. We have a friend
Evan:named Max and if he was I'd probably throw him to zombies first.
Andrew:Oh. He's throwing he's throwing. You're like, that's my fault.
Tyler Watson:Alright. My game plan.
Andrew:Max parade.
Tyler Watson:You like leaned up the second, like the second he said, you're like, all right.
Andrew:Yeah. All right. So we're killing Max instantly. One of our
Tyler Watson:best friends. Is a great question because I feel like, I feel like everybody's so amped at the show. So like a zombie apocalypse starts to happen, I think people would just use that Yeah. Even
Andrew:Honestly, okay, if a zombie apocalypse happened at a show, a zombie pulls up, bites someone, everyone's gonna spin kick that zombie's head off hard. And then that's probably the other person who got bit unfortunately, I don't know, I'm sorry. Yeah. If you got bit by a zombie it's already too big. And like especially if it's on the shoulder, if it's on on their arm, we'll do like cut it off.
Andrew:We'll like,
Tyler Watson:Oh, live agitation. You got like a pocket knife. Oh God. I feel like it's like a zombie mosh. Feel like Loki the zombie would just like- Leo would think it's tough.
Tyler Watson:Yeah. I think he would just like, because I think what would happen is they would like see everybody just like chasing each other and like swinging each other and they'd be really confused. Oh, I
Andrew:started a circle pit. The zombies like chasing everyone and they're like trying to eat them, but everyone thinks that they're just part of the pit. Exactly.
Tyler Watson:Yeah, nobody notices the zombies because everyone's freaking freaking out. Know, the smelly dude is just actually a Okay,
Andrew:but if I like actually knew it was a zombie and I was locked in, I'd be like everyone stop. Turn around. Riley, hand me the sticks. He tells me, one. Another one.
Andrew:And then I like jump from the stage onto the zombie and I get both of the sticks and I jam it in its head. It's not an ice show.
Gurt:Wow, wow. That's true heroism
Andrew:and That's how it would go down too.
Tyler Watson:That would be sick. I honestly want this to happen though. I was kind of hoping you were gonna go, that guy right there, kick his ass. You know like, he's a zombie. He's just like, kill him, no.
Tyler Watson:That'd have been awesome.
Gurt:Okay. Oh, here's another question that Gurt had for you guys. So if you could have a fictional character join the band, what who would it be and what would they play?
Evan:Here I'm gonna have to think about it, you should go first, I'm think about this real quick.
Andrew:I think Ryuk.
Tyler Watson:Ryuk, who's that?
Evan:Who's that?
Andrew:No actually no not him, I want
Tyler Watson:Oh back down.
Andrew:Wait wait wait wait wait wait, I think I think I either want Snake
Tyler Watson:Oh Or
Andrew:Snake on base Simon, from the from the castle game. Simon? Yeah, never played Castle, but I think I probably played it for like five minutes. Are
Evan:talking Snake from Metal Gear by the way?
Andrew:Yes I am. No. Because I'm thinking of That is tough. Yeah. I think he
Tyler Watson:would That goes for the vibe so well.
Andrew:He would either play rhythm or drums, think.
Gurt:And
Tyler Watson:What about Snake? Or Snake is rhythm drums?
Andrew:He's rhythm or drums. And who's the other guy that I said? Simon. Simon. Simon.
Andrew:Simon would be, I think he would be probably lead. That's it, that's all. Nice.
Tyler Watson:Replace me,
Evan:replace me, okay.
Andrew:Well I'm not gonna replace you bro, it's
Tyler Watson:just Okay,
Andrew:okay, Breaking
Tyler Watson:the band up right Oh
Evan:dude I just had it in my head and now it's gone. I like literally just had it. Where is it?
Tyler Watson:My character. There would be. I'm going like a strong like I'm going like a strong like a what's the I'm doing like Forrest Gump on like rhythms. Oh. Okay, tough.
Andrew:Oh, I got something I got something low key niche. I'd get the default character from mod, Mod Nation Racers on the PS three. And he would be he would be on bass.
Evan:Dude. Nelson from Infamous Second Son on guitar.
Tyler Watson:Oh. Homagrass on drums. Do you think these were good answers, Gert?
Gurt:Oh yeah, mean these are good answers. Yeah, Gert feels, be satisfied Gert.
Andrew:Oh. Random inspiration video game, Infamous. Infamous. Infamous.
Evan:Infamous is awesome. Good game. I've only played Second Son really, but Play the first one.
Tyler Watson:I mean
Evan:I played
Tyler Watson:a little
Evan:bit of the other ones, but
Tyler Watson:Wait a minute, hold on. You have a do you have an account for sec, because I've seen like videos like of you individually. Oh, yeah. Yeah I have
Andrew:a personal account and then I have like a account where I post like my skits and like satirical content.
Tyler Watson:That yeah that one. Okay because let me like let me you know, I you know I discover you at Dial the Bands I'm like scrolling through Instagram maybe a week or two later and I like I'm looking at like, man, because look, love the haircut. It is very, very distinct. I'm like, I feel like I got teleported back to 2012. Was like, what?
Tyler Watson:Where am I now?
Andrew:That's a huge compliment for me.
Tyler Watson:It is. It's iconic because it's like, you don't see it anymore now. So it's so, it's so like iconic to your, your get up. But I like, I was like, this dude looks just like the guy who was playing at Battle of the Bands, like, which is just like him. And it was so polarizingly different than how we see you on stage.
Andrew:Yeah. Yeah. I get, I get that a lot. Like every time people who like haven't like seen us before, they're like, I can't believe that was coming out of you.
Tyler Watson:I was like, I
Andrew:don't know if that's a diss or not, but I kinda it. It is polarized.
Tyler Watson:I got the better version because I got the reverse. I was like, this really extreme dude is like posting this. Like I thought he was gonna like, like low key post like weird, like inspirational quotes or something like, you know, like it's
Andrew:No, I just like to be silly online.
Tyler Watson:Like the lion doesn't like, I thought it was gonna be stuff like that. Oh. The lion doesn't waste time on
Andrew:pop The lion doesn't bother with sleeping.
Tyler Watson:Yes. Lion doesn't. Lion.
Andrew:Sleep is for the weak.
Tyler Watson:The lion doesn't wear deodorants. And people
Andrew:will never rest until we're all dead.
Evan:About Bringing the resin reference?
Andrew:Yeah, it's a lyric from Bringing
Tyler Watson:the Yeah. Oh yeah, no, I remembered. Gurt, you had another question here. I'm sorry, I keep going back to these Gurt questions.
Andrew:I love
Tyler Watson:Gurt. You know Gurt loves
Gurt:you guys. Gurt loves Glass Edge. Gurt Gurt loves Glass Oh, you. Thank you. Cause I am made out of foam.
Andrew:Yeah, can Poor see girl.
Gurt:Well, here's the thing. Here's a suggestion I had. What? If Gurt were ever to join the band, then maybe you could rename it something, more more something safer, like, GLASS EDGE is just so violent.
Andrew:I feel like GLASS EDGE is pretty safe.
Tyler Watson:No. No. No. No. It was called a
Evan:Gurt EDGE. Would that be better?
Gurt:Phone Corner.
Tyler Watson:Foam corner.
Gurt:God, it has a lot more to do with GERT.
Tyler Watson:Foam pit. Oh yeah, loves foam pits. Foam pit. But see the thing is we would need
Andrew:to get some foam pieces.
Gurt:Yeah, but it's just a little gory for GERT because I am made out of foam.
Andrew:Exactly so it's glorious. That's
Gurt:I don't want GERT to want to see that.
Tyler Watson:It's like a body like.
Gurt:That's body gore.
Tyler Watson:It's body gore.
Andrew:No, if we were a foam pit and then we were called foam pit and then we had a live show where like the pit, we had a bunch of foam just like dumped on everyone. Yeah. It became a foam pit literally.
Tyler Watson:Foam pit. I'm thinking like, I thought you were gonna say like, what if we just got about like a bunch of like stuffed animals and like throw them in? I feel like
Andrew:you Dude, dad, we did do that once. A lot times
Evan:Oh with the alien. There's just like team alien.
Tyler Watson:Yeah.
Evan:Yeah. It might still be at the masquerade
Tyler Watson:in the No,
Andrew:he is. He he's actually still at the altar because it got kicked up on top of this air vent that's, almost right above the stage like, So like right before you get if you look up at the top there's a green alien and it's like we signed it and it says GLASS EDGE on it and he kind of looks like Steve.
Tyler Watson:You'll have a permanent, that's actually kind of
Andrew:It's sick up there, yeah.
Tyler Watson:I like that. The last time
Andrew:that I was there, was in August.
Tyler Watson:Maybe, maybe I think what you can, what you should do here, here's the advice to experiment. Just throw people for a loop and like, just like play like one random, like 20 tens pop song and then go right into your regular set. Like really throw people off.
Evan:Think Ichalalia did that or was it Ichalalia or I'm pretty sure at the Brickyard Show,
Tyler Watson:and then I know I think Daimora has I done that before can't remember.
Andrew:I can't remember what
Evan:was the It is pretty cool.
Tyler Watson:Or do you guys wear outfits on stage?
Andrew:No, we kind of just wear tough fits.
Evan:Yeah, I just wear a band shirt and like camo pants We or
Andrew:don't wear outfits, we wear tough fits.
Tyler Watson:Tough, tough fits.
Andrew:Tough fits.
Tyler Watson:Tough fits. Fits. Not outfits. Tough fits.
Evan:That's clever. Yeah.
Tyler Watson:That's a new album album name, Tough fits.
Andrew:Tough fits.
Tyler Watson:Yeah we were always kind of
Andrew:like creating new words like Tough fits. You got an outfit? I got a tough fit.
Tyler Watson:I got a tough fit. That wow that is that is the lion only wears tough fits. I like that, I like that. Well, you guys got some merch here you wanna show off?
Andrew:Oh yeah we do. We celebrating our release of our we said we've been saying EP, technically it's labeled online as an album. So I guess it's technically an album. It's album length, like barely. Yeah.
Andrew:But our release for our debut album, This Is Where I Die Again. That's a sick For sure, we only have like three left and it one of this is the three. We do have our CDs. That's awesome looking. That we got printed.
Andrew:That looks straight out of 2012. Oh yeah. And shout out shout out, our, graphic designer for this Max. It's a different Max. He lives Shout in out Canadian Max.
Andrew:Canadian? He's tough. And he did a lot of cool work. So if you open it up inside
Tyler Watson:Oh. That is sick dude.
Andrew:And that is awesome. Front cover doubles, whoops, as a lyric sheet and you open it up.
Tyler Watson:Wow. For two of
Andrew:our songs, tearing every stick. That is sick, dude.
Tyler Watson:And this is where
Andrew:I die.
Tyler Watson:How many
Andrew:of those do you have? Oh. Oh, right now? I think we've got probably 11 left, but we can always just print more. Dang dude, those are sick.
Andrew:I love those. Did you guys
Tyler Watson:have to put them all in like yourself?
Evan:Oh yeah, we did it like right before our last show.
Tyler Watson:Oh really? Yeah. Oh wow.
Andrew:Yeah, because we were making like small little adjustments. Oh my God. Oh my God. This is annoying. Sorry.
Andrew:It's so annoying.
Tyler Watson:Yeah. It's okay. It's okay. That's awesome. Y'all this is awesome.
Tyler Watson:Truly. Thank you. You. I know somebody on our team was wanting to buy one. This just look this reminds $12 everybody.
Tyler Watson:I feel nostalgic when I'm talking to you and looking at this.
Andrew:Oh, thank you.
Tyler Watson:I feel like this is gonna sound weird. I feel nostalgic because I feel like I look at you, I feel like I'm just taken back, you know?
Andrew:Yeah, we're like a, almost like a time machine.
Tyler Watson:Yeah, you really are. Yeah. This is weird. This is very strange. Love this.
Andrew:Thank
Tyler Watson:Yeah. Well, is there anything else you guys would like? Gurt, there, do you have anything you want

Andrew:Oh yeah.
Evan:I don't even know what he
